Patrick Fitzpatrick, son of Richard Fitzpatrick and Ellen Giffney, was born on 9 June 1899 in Ashford.3,2 Patrick Fitzpatrick first married Teresa Garrahan, daughter of John Garrahan and Mary Maguire,2 and later married Mary Rispin.2 Patrick Fitzpatrick died on 29 July 1965 at age 66 in Dublin.2

Michael Fitzpatrick was in the RIC.5 He finished his service at Cappoquin in Waterford and he has descendants living there. His service in the RIC ended when he was discharged for poaching salmon. (an unknown value) on circa 1875.2

Ellen Nugent married Michael Giffney on 28 June 1859 in County Wicklow. The witnesses were Michael Reilly and Mary Darcy.2,4

Dick Fitzpatrick provided a photo of the Giffney home in October 2003. He said in his covering letter:

The thatched house was the Giffney family home. It is still inhabited though the roof is now tiled and there have been a few other alterations. These changes have occured within the last twenty years or so.

The workshop was on the left - only a small part is shown. The note at the bottom of the photo was put there by the local auctioneer but, to the best of my knowledge, there was never a forge there. The Giffneys were carpenters and builders.

The wall on the right is all that remains of a small glasshouse which, when I was much younger, Michael "Sonny" Giffney had. He was the head gardener at Mount Usher Gardens. It would seem that Sonny also lived in the thatched cottage with his wife.5
