Vicente Matas Serra married Jennifer Jane Brooke, daughter of Hugh Allen Brooke MBE and Jessie Mary Slight, on 13 April 1977 at The Register Office, Fareham, Hampshire.1

Vicente Matas Serra died on 23 October 2013 at the Clinica Planas, Palma. He had been admitted about two weeks befor for a bladder infection but developed pneumonia.2 He was cremated circa 25 October 2013 at Palma.2

On Wednesday 30 October 2013 the family had a mass celebrated for him. at the Parish Church of Santa Cruz, Palma. At the mass there was a reading of his life.

The following notice in Spanish in the newspaper Diario de Mallorca:

His widow Jane Brooke, his children Margarita, Tolo and Pilar Matas Attienza, his son-in-law Miguel Company Salaverria, his grandchildren Pilar, Alvaro and Isabel are grateful for the demonstration of sympathy received from family and friends and announce that, in his memory, there will be a funeral mass on Wednesday 30th October 2013 at 8.00pm at the Parish Church of Santa Cruz in Palma.2
